Response to Arlene Shapiro's Woman from Verdigris Collection
Shapeshifting. I drop my last tear into the lush Materia Prima of Mother Earth, hoping that this life’s passing has had value in the breath of existence, unfolding and enfolding, a continuum of coming into Being and dissolving back into the elements.
If you dare, kiss me one last time. Lips that no longer can speak of all the things that have mattered: the expression of love; gratitude for those who surrounded me and offered me comfort as I traveled through the challenges arising like hidden gifts, testing my Resolve to live a beneficial life, to learn, and to continue looking for the Beauty behind everything.
As I lose track of myself, an inner vision filled with dancing lights of celebration grabs my attention. The senses fading, I listen for the silence of roses that brings a type of serenity that both holds space close around me and expands into a vast soft clarity, a coming home into Essence Alone, the All as One, without separation, a whole that is the unconfused embrace of love.

“Shapeshifting.” Stunning opening word, Kyle! And then the prose takes off into somewhere deep (totally befitting Arlene’s thought-provoking artwork). As Arlene explained to us on the Sat. Imaginative Storm call, some of the techniques she used to achieve the visual effects, I was amazed by her imagination. And Kyle, you picked up from the visual and used words like “unfolding and enfolding,””dancing lights of celebration,” and you described a place of peace in which clarity, wholeness, and love can be found. Lovely!
